Applied Plasma Arc Technologies, LLC (APAT) was established in May 2010 as a spin-out of the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) Plasma Applications Research Facility (PARF) and is focused on the commercialization and development of plasma arc technologies.

The company is a member of the Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) at the Georgia Institute of Technology, the leading technology innovator in the United States. Offices are located in the ATDC incubator facilities on the Georgia Tech campus.
